About us

Archaic Sound is an underground metal label founded in 2010 in Kyiv, Ukraine, currently based in Potsdam, Germany.

Keeping our focus mainly on (old school) death metal, black metal and (epic & death/) doom metal, since 2010 we released records by some of renowned underground bands including 1914, Albez Duz, Cromlech, Temple Of Void, Ymir’s Blood among many other and reissued classics by the likes of Morgoth, Grave, Runemagick, Istapp, Glorior Belli, Demigod, Ofermod, Lie In Ruins.

We also have the thrash metal sublabel Shellfire Attack, which released albums of Poltergeist, Nocturnal and Bestial Invasion. It’s been on hiatus for the last seven years, but was revived in 2025 for its 10th anniversary.

We are also starting to distribute other labels again. We don’t want to be a metal supermarket like some of the others, so don’t expect stoner, slam, deathcore or pornogrind from us – just carefully selected stuff in the spirit of our labels, maybe with a touch of classic heavy metal.
