Nocte Obducta – a name in the music landscape that has often polarized opinions. For some, they are too untrue, for others, too avant-garde, experimental, or out-there. And on top of all that, Nocte Obducta is a band that is and remains completely unpredictable. After their magnificent black metal comeback, “Verderbnis,” the band presents itself more multifaceted than ever on “Umbriel.” Space, silence, emptiness… these are the fundamental themes of this new monumental work.

Limits that one would have previously expected from Nocte Obducta have been shattered, and “Umbriel” is a masterpiece with spherical passages alternating with 70s rock elements and crowned with Nocte-typical elements. Umbriel is the darkest of Uranus’s moons, and there’s much to tell, a journey through space and time.
